Peanut Blossoms

Another delicious way to mix chocolate and peanut butter together.  I’ve made these all through the year, but this is also one we make at Christmas.  I like to double this recipe when the grandkids are home.  Be sure to follow the final step.  I’ve eaten these made by those-who-shall-remain-nameless that were not returned to the oven.  They did not taste as good.

Peanut Blossoms

1/2 cup butter                                                             1/3 cup natural peanut butter

1/2 cup white sugar                                                   1  3/4  cups flour

1/2 cup brown sugar                                                 1 teaspoon baking soda

1 egg                                                                              1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon vanilla                                                       1 bag foil wrapped chocolate kisses

Unwrap at least 40 kisses.

Cream together the butter, peanut butter, and the sugars.  Add the egg and vanilla.  Beat again.  Mis in the dry ingredients, a little at a time.

Pinch off a small amount of dough and roll it into a ball the size of a walnut.  Place on ungreased cookie sheets.  Bake at 375F for 8 minutes or until very lightly browned.

Removed the cookie sheet from the oven and place one kiss in the center of each cookie, pressing down a little.  RETURN the cookie on the sheet to the oven and bake for 2 more minutes.  Remove the cookies to a rack to cool.
