Blue and white quilt

I finally finished this quilt after about five years!  Not that I was working on it for five years straight.  I finished several other quilts in between working on this one.  The problem was in all those triangle squares.  I used commercial marked paper to make the squares and making them was a piece of cake.  Then the problem started when I tried to get the paper off the backs of the triangle squares.  That took forever and I had to resew the edges of many of them.  I doubt very much if I will ever use that method again.  I will just put the two squares together, mark and sew them the old-fashioned way and save hours and hours of time.  Many years ago in an old quilting magazine I found this setting and put it in my file of quilts that I wanted to make.I love the way the blue and white paths go across the quilt.

Here's the finished quilt.

  1. Very pretty. I’m glad you finished it, though I’m sure all the paper was discouraging. I haven’t used that method and even have resisted paper piecing because I don’t want to deal with it!

  2. beautiful quilt! Worth the wait!
