Another Easy Grandson Quilt–Trains and more Trains

When I gave the new quilts to my two older grandsons,  (here) I could tell that the third child felt left out.  Even though he hadn’t asked for a new quilt, he watched his brothers get one, so I had to make him one too.

He is a big train fan, so I went on-line and found several fabrics with train symbols and trains on them.  I bought a yard of each, except for one: train tracks.  Train tracks–that’s all there was on the fabric.  I thought it would be perfect for a border for a boy who loves trains, so I bought three yards of that and it did make a perfect border.  The tracks are just the right size for a power train to fit on with a little hand pushing the engine along the track.

I put a big section of Thomas and friends trains into the quilt.

I also found some other nice train fabric.

Trains and more trains.

Here’s a close up of the quilting pattern I used.

It makes "tracks" too.

And the happy grandson.
