Today is the first Sunday of Advent. Advent is the four weeks of anticipation before Christmas. Christians look forward to Christmas Day as a celebration of the birth of Jesus. We don’t really care if he was actually born on December 25. We know he was the son of God, born into this world as a man, and that is the day we celebrate his birth. Beyond trees, decorations, cards, wishes, food, and gifts lies the true meaning of Christmas. Jesus came into this world, ultimately to die for our sins.
